October Oil Painting from Photograph

Join artist Victoria Dusseau in this all levels workshop to explore the tools and techniques involved in the timeless practice of oil painting. You'll use a photo as a reference for this workshop and will be guided through interpretation of the image with a focus on composition, lighting, and color depth.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own photograph as a reference (printed on copy paper is fine). We recommend a simple still life, ideally in a bright (or sunny) spot where you can see a shadow. Good examples include: a piece of pottery, a cup, a jar, food, sardines, a fork, a matchbox, box of something, bottle of something, a book, a candle… or any combination of those items. Anything that brings you joy. If you are a beginner, stick to something more simple. Victoria will also be offering a view photos students can use. All materials are included.

October 22 from 6pm - 9pm (Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in and get settled)

Students should wear clothing they are comfortable getting paint on or bring an apron/smock for this class!
